You've shot that wonderful video of your family outings with your AVCHD camcorder. Now, how can you get them down the computer for backup or for doing some shine editing or for sharing with friends. I noticed that many camcorder users have questions about Capturing AVCHD streams from camcorder to computer. Actually, there is manual process and wizard process to archive and transfer recorded videos to PC or external HDD. Here I would like to share my know-how to you about AVCHD files backup. The manual archive could be done without third party software, while the simple-click AVCHD files backup will be done with Aunsoft Final Mate.
- Manually copy and transfer AVCHD files from HDcam to computer.
For camcorders with internal flash memory or hard drive, you will notice that CAM_MEM as external drive on computer. If connected with SD card on camcorder, you will also get CAM_SD as external drive. For videos recorded on camcorder flash memory, you will find the AVCHD files manually from CAM_MEM > AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM. To find AVCHD .mts or .m2ts files from camcorder SD card, you shall go to CAM_SD > PRIVATE > AVCHD > BDMV > STREAM.
If you are not sure about the file structure, just copy the AVCHD folder from flash drive or SD card to computer hard drive or external hard drive disk as archive.
- Backup AVCHD video files with simple clicks.
However, for users who are not familiar with the AVCHD camcorder file structure, and do not want to go to so many folders, Aunsoft Final Mate provides the quickest and easiest capturing function to enable convenient video conversion.
