Along with Panasonic HDC-TM700, there is another model HDC-HS700, which also includes advanced 3MOS System and Leica Dicomar Lens. The major difference between HS700 and TM700 is that HS700 has much larger space for storing videos and pictures with 240-GB HDD and SD Card Slot. It is easy to shoot 1920 x 1080i High Definition video in HE mode or 1920 x 1080p full High Definition video in 1080/50p mode.
The 1080/50p mode for Europe and 1080/60p for US produce higher quality video comparing to other consumer camcorders with similar pricing range, but the saved 1080/50p and 1080/60 MTS is not AVCHD standard compliant. Avid Media Composer does not work with the Panasonic HS700 video footage very well. Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac comes as the solution partner with Avid on Mac OS X for converting Panasonic HS700 1080/50p and 1080/60p MTS to Avid compatible format: MOV.
Well, here I demonstrate the simple steps using Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac to convert Panasonic HDC-HS700 60p MTS to MOV for Avid Media Composer on Mac Snow Leopard.
Step 1. Load AVCHD videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac.

You may also open the folder with the 60p .mts files and drag and drop to the converter interface.

Click the "Format" option, and choose Adobe Premiere/Sony Vegas > MOV (AVC)(*.mov) as output format. With the default settings of the output profile, you will get HD MOV videos with the same resolution as the MTS video footage for editing in Avid Media Composer 5.
Step 3. Convert Panasonic HS700 60p MTS to Avid MC.

After the conversion, it is easy to import HD videos to Avid MC without problem, and create movies with the video footage.
If you have other Panasonic camcorders like HDC-TM700, HDC-SD60, DMC-ZS7/TZ10, you may also use the Panasonic AVCHD to Avid converter for Mac OS X like Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard.
