Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac
Final mate for Mac is useful HD camcorder assistant software developed by Aunsoft Studio for Mac users to easily capture HD videos from camcorder to the program, edit movies on a timeline, and merge/split AVCHD/TOD/MOD files for lossless output or for conversion.
Camcorder
Camcorder used in the software or this guide refers to digital camcorders, which use hard disk drive or flash memory as storage medium, in most cases can be connected to Mac via USB cable as identified external equipment and its formats of the video recordings are AVCHD(MTS, M2TS), TOD, or MOD.
Capture/Playback
Capture refers to transferring videos from camcorder to your Mac computer for backup or to the program for further editing. Playback measures how well audio and video plays during editing in inserted player and after production.
Import HD Video
The software can import and edit high definition videos like AVCHD, AVCHD Lite, AVCCAM, NXCAM, TOD, MOD.
Timeline
The software allows you to manage movies or video clips using a timeline. This tool makes splitting movies, merging video clips, adding background music, deinterlacing, replacing audio, color restoration and other editing more convenient.
Split/Divide scenes frame by frame
This feature is enhanced to let you precisely seek and display each frame of the movie and split one scene into two or more separate video clips at precise point.
Frame accurate (Frame by Frame)
As HD recordings from AVCHD, MOD, TOD camcorders are often highly compressed, so for a compressed movie it contains key frames and non-key frames. Key frames can be displayed independently, while non-key frames can not be displayed without key frames. So the functionality to seek and display each frame correctly, no matter key frame or non-key frame, is called frame accurate (frame by frame). (Tip: Frame is one of the many single photographic images in a video.)
Merge without re-encoding
Final Mate for Mac supports merging MTS, M2TS, MOD or TOD videos in the same sequence into only one without re-encoding or conversion. In this case, the original HD quality is maintained and will not have any quality loss.
Merge for conversion
Final Mate for Mac supports joining imported MTS, M2TS, MOD, or TOD videos into one and converting to other popular formats or codec such as Apple ProRes, etc.
Sequence
The program will auto detect the codec, frame rate, width * height, aspect ratio, sample rate, channel of your video clips. The video clips with the same parameters can be categorized as one sequence or one movie in Timeline or Movies Tab in the program.
Video Restoration
Video Restoration includes common editing effects such as color correction and deinterlacing.
Learning Commands by Using Tooltips
When you move the pointer over a control in Aunsoft Final Mate, a small box called tooltip appears with a description of the control.
The limits of the trial version
1． The output files will have Aunsoft watermark in the middle of the video.
2． Lossless output option has a file size limit of only 5 minutes.
The way to get rid of Aunsoft watermark
The retail version of Aunsoft Final Mate will let you get away from watermark, so if you want to remove the watermark in your export files, please purchase the full version and re-convert your videos.
