Trial Version
1. Q: What are the differences between the full version and the trial version?
A: For lossless output, there is a limited time for the output file. Only 5 minutes is allowed to lossless output for the trial version. For other output options, there will be a watermark on the trial version. For the full version, there is no any limit.
2. Q: How to remove watermarks on the trial version?
A: Our trial version has a limitation that outputs video with a watermark. If you don't like it and want to remove or get rid of it, you could register a full version via purchase the program online.
3. Q: Can I get technical support for using trial version?
A:Yes, if a trial user meets any technical problem when using our product, please tell us your question via email to support@aunsoft.com. Our support team will answer your question within 24 hours.
Functionality
1. Q: I try to play the lossless output from Final Mate on my WDTV Live Plus. But the video stops playing after a few seconds. Why? And how can I get it fixed?
A: WDTV Live Plus only supports MTS files in BDAV, different with the lossless output from Final Mate. But we have a better solution for WDTV customers. For more details, please read the page here.
2. Q: Why the program can’t merge MPG files made by my Sony digital camera?
A: As Final Mate is designed for AVCHD, TOD, MOD camcorders/cameras,it only supports importing/merging the AVCHD (MTS, M2TS), AVCHD Lite, MOD, TOD video files from Sony, JVC, Canon, Panasonic HD camcorders. If your recordings are MPG, MOV, MP4 format made by your camera, please use Aunsoft Video Converter to merge all your files and then make a conversion to suitable format.
3. Q: Why the program can’t let me import M2TS files from Blu-ray disc?
A: As Final Mate is designed for AVCHD, TOD, MOD camcorders/cameras, it can not let you import and merge M2TS files from Blu-ray disc, if you want to merge Blu-ray M2TS files, please use Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter to merge these files and then make a conversion to suitable format.
4. Q: Can Final Mate recognize MTS files from HD cam directly? If not, how did I extract MTS files from HD Cam?
A: Yes. Final Mate automatically detects your camcorder and starts the capturing/importing process immediately. In the Camcorder Wizard, we offered two ways to capture video files to the program for editing: Import and Backup. Generally, we recommend Import because it is very fast to process and does not take up your HD free space.
5. Q: My M2TS files can not be imported to Final Mate successfully. Why?
A: Please make sure that these M2TS files can be played by VLP player well. If the original files are OK and no corrupted point, then be sure that these M2TS files are from HD Cam. Final Mate doesn’t support the decrypted M2TS files from the blu ray movies. If you want to merge/convert M2TS files from Blu-ray disc, please choose MTS/M2TS Converter or Video Converter.
6. Q: I’m interested in the function of merging with no conversion; does it work on all my camcorder files?
A: Final Mate supports merging MTS, M2TS, MOD or TOD videos captured from camcorder, constructed in the same parameters, into only one with no conversion and loss of quality. The “same parameters” means that the files are completely same in the structure of codec, frame rate, width * height, aspect ratio, sample rate, and the audio channel of your MTS, M2TS, MOD or TOD videos. Only the videos with the same parameters will be allowed to be grouped as one movie for lossless output. But even if your files are different in those parameters, you can merge a whole movie by processing re-encoding. It is up to you to decide the type of the movie before you create the movie items, lossless or re-encoding.
7. Q: Can I split a movie at any time point I want into two parts? Or is it possible to cut a movie at an exactly point I need?
A: Yes, you can split, cut, and separate the video in the timeline of the program. And you are allowed to easily drop the files to the time line (multi-selected and multi-dropped is supported) from the “Resource”. Following the timeline, active frame-line is also offered. So while the edited movie is played, you can locate the exact frame to process those actions.

8. Q: The converted files did not play very well on my PC. There are the lines in the output files. How to do to fix it?
A: We offered a Deinterlace setting to help you with this issue. It is a check-box above the time line. So long as you get it checked, your video files will be deinterlaced and those annoying lines will be get rid of in the preview and output, as well.
9. Q: Can I edit the files with the full screen mode?
A: Yes, you can. Just click the icon on the top-right corner on the main interface to make it in full screen mode.
10. Q: How to rename the output Movie?
A: Click Rename button and type in the name to make it done. Or right click on the movie to output and select the option “Rename Selected Movie”. Type in the name you want to the box and then click OK to make it done.
11. Q: How many output options for Final Mate?
A: There are four main output options: lossless output, Export into Device, Export into Editor and Common Formats. “Lossless output” will be active only when you have lossless movie to output; “Export into Device” offers special profiles for various devices, such as iPad 2, iPhone 4 and Android phones, etc. In the “Export into Editor” list, you will get optimized profiles for popular editor programs, like Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas and AVID, etc.
12. Q: The MTS from Panasonic GH2 can not import to Windows Movie Maker for editing, can this program help me do a conversion?
A: Yes. Final Mate provides output format like WMV for Windows Movie Maker; WMV, MPG, MOV for Adobe Premiere; AVI, MPG, WMV for Pinnacle Studio; MPG, WMV for Magix Movie Edit; MPG, MOV, MP4, WMV for Cyberlink PowerDirector; MPG, MOV, MP4, WMV for Ulead; WMV, MPG, MOV, TS for Sony Vegas. You can easily convert MTS, M2TS, MOD or TOD files to Editor’s suitable format for editing. Just choose Export > Export into Editor.
13. Q: Which one is better in the two kinds of MP4 output forms if I want to get better quality?
A: As far as the output quality is concerned, H.264 would provide the better .mp4 files, although it is a little larger in output size. In addition, CUDA acceleration is valid in the H.264 encoding if you are using a NVIDIA VGA Card.
14. Q: How do I get rid of the black edges around my movie?
A: It is very easy to deal with. Click “Crop” button (in third position) on the Timeline, you will see a Crop window and there are four crop values on the bottom of the crop window: Left, Top, Width and Height. You can set each value to crop your video in different position and size.
15. Q: Which factors will affect the conversion speed?
A: The configuration of the computer will play an important role in the conversion speed. The type of the created movie you selected is also considered; lossless output will be definitely faster than re-encoding. And also, if your computer supports Intel (Intel Processor) and CUDA (NVIDIA VGA) accelerations, you will get much faster conversion speed. Different acceleration decoders are available in the “Tools-Preference”, under the card “Others”.
16. Q: Some other similar programs would have video and audio sync issue in the output. What about yours?
A: Based on the newest audio-video sync technology, Final Mate can provide you with outstanding output image and sound quality, never let you get into trouble with the audio and video sync issues. Moreover, multiple optimizing functionalities are available to better the output video quality.
Although the preview playback in the integrated player of our program is a little jerky, not very smooth, or not video and audio sync in some situations, it still does not affect the outputs. The outputs will be surely sync and sharp.
17. Q: Where to find the converted files?
A: Click “Browse Export Path” icon on the Conversion window of the program to find the exported or converted files.
18. Q: I did some editing jobs in the time line and process a lossless output. But the output movies can not be played properly in some of my player programs. Why and how can I get it fixed?
A: Generally, we recommend customers to use VLC player to playback the lossless output movies. It is free and much more stable than most of other players. If you do not like it, please do some modifications in the Preference of our program. In the “Tools-Preference”, under the card “Others”, please select “Split from next GOP” there. And then, re-do the lossless output.

1. Q: Does the program work with Windows 7 OS?
A: Yes. It supports Windows 7 OS with both 32-bit and 64-bit Edition.
2. Q: I have purchased your product but I have no idea how to use it because I can't find any field for typing the key code?
A: I think you are still using our trial version, please note that you have to uninstall the trial version and then reinstall the full version to enter your key code. Please download the full version of the product through the download link provided in your received mail, install, and launch the app. Then you will see the interface asking for your key code.
3. Q: How to check the current version number for Aunsoft software?
A: For finding the version number, you can click "About" from the Help menu, and you will see the version number.
4. Q: How did I know the update news?

1. Q: What are the differences between Final Mate and MTS/M2TS Converter?
Both applications work to HD camcorder videos, and deinterlace 1080i videos for playback on PC. Both applications support 1080/60p, 1080/50p, 1080i, AVCHD Lite 720p videos, help you take still image from the recorded videos.
