Most of my home videos are shot with either Sony HDR-SR11 or the new Panasonic HDC-TM700. Both camcorders can save 1080i videos in .m2ts format, but Panasonic TM700k is advanced with 1080/60p 28mbps mode. When I would like to edit the AVCHD videos in Final Cut Pro, I got error message about the unsupported 1080/60p videos.
Since Apple ProRes 422 was introduced as the video codec for Final Cut Studio to edit full-frame, 10-bit and HD videos, I would like to convert M2TS to ProRes 422 Quicktime or Remux M2TS to Quicktime for editing in Final Cut Pro. After google search, I find ClipWrap and Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac as choices. However, ClipWrap does not deinterlace videos to get perfect ProRes files. Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is the recommended AVCHD M2TS video to ProRes 422 converter on Mac Snow Leopard with deinterlacing option for ProRes 422.
