Right about when some pretty important fellows over at HTC were holding a press conference in London to announce the enrichment of their Android-based list of phones with the Desire HD and the Desire Z, some other smart guys from HTC were working on updating HTC’s own web site, finally dedicating a page for T-Mobile G2. The page enlightens the mysteries that surrounded HTC’s G2 and shows all tesch specs of the phone.
Powered by a Qualcomm MSM 7230 processor clocked at 800 MHz, T-Mobile G2 obviously takes pride in its Android 2.2 operating system. The available memory is quite substantial: 4 GB ROM and 512 RAM. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard hides under a 3.7 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen with a pretty decent resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The device comes equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and flash that can capture videos in HD. Always present, the Bluetooth will be seen on the G2 as well. Also Wi-Fi, GPS and aGPS will be there to help you navigate your way.

HTC claims that the 1300 mAh battery can last for up to 430 hours of standby and the talk time can reach 400 minutes for WCDMA or 590 minutes for GSM, all of these assumptions being evidently subjected to network and phone usage. With the length of 119 mm, the width of 60.4 mm and the thickness of 14.16 mm (if you think that’s too thick for you just remember there’s a QWERTY keyboard in there also) the phone weighs a massive 180 grams (THIS can be a reason to complain about if you’re looking for one). All in all, the device sounds pretty decent. Nothing special though since we got used to HTC releasing impressive smartphones on conveyor.
