Step 1. Transfer Sony HDR-XR100 M2TS to computer hard drive.
Install the bundled Picture Motion Browser (PMB) on CD-Rom, and use USB cable to connect Sony HDR-XR100 to computer. PMB will help transfer videos to hard drive.
Step 2. Load Sony M2TS videos to Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter.
Run Aunsoft MTS/M2TS Converter as the Sony M2TS to AVI converter, and click the "Add" button to load 1080i .m2ts videos.
Step 3. Choose output format.
Click the "Format" option, and choose HD Video > AVI HD Video(*.avi) for converting Sony HDR-XR100 M2TS to AVI.
Tips: To get a smaller file size, click the "Settings" button and choose smaller video resolution from the drop-down options of Size(pix). For example, you can choose 720p for video resolution. Another solution to compress M2TS files is to lower video quality with original video resolution. You can choose lower video quality option from the options of Bitrate(kbps) after clicking the "Settings" button.
Step 4. Compress Sony HDR-XR100 M2TS to AVI.
Click the convert button under the preview window, the M2TS compressor will shrink Sony HDR-XR100 M2TS files to AVI with smaller size.
Tips:
1. It will more or less degrade the video quality while compressing and shrinking videos into smaller size. However, it saves hard disk space for storing the videos.
2. If you are using Apple computer with Mac OS X like Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard, you can use Mac M2TS Compressor for MacBook Pro or iMac.
