If you are asked what the most popular sharing platform is, what will you think of at once? I believe most people’s answer must be YouTube. There are always some people wondering the reason why YouTube is so popular not only in USA and western countries, but also in any other areas all over the world. With the development of information technology especially the internet, people have more freedom to communicate and share something with others. Many life styles have been replaced by internet.

So YouTube is coming to meet the requirements of us and offers us a wide sharing platform to keep in touch with each other. We can use our camcorder to shoot some interesting video clips in our life and upload them to YouTube to attract more people with lots of comments. As it comes to me, I usually carry my Panasonic Lumix GH2K to capture video clips and I was addicted in it.

Sometimes I would have my AVCHD files from Lumix GH2K edited in some video editing tools such as Avid Media Composer 5. And the problem is how to import AVCHD files to Avid Media Composer as Avid does not support AVCHD files for input. I used Aunsoft Final Mate to make it in a short time.

First I connect the Lumix GH2K to PC and import AVCHD files to Final Mate and then I can preview the video clips on the preview window after double click on the file in resource tab.

Then I create movies for conversion output by dragging the files to movie tab. After that I click the format icon and find the format particularly for importing to Avid Media Composer 5, and I choose it without any hesitation. The last step is to start the conversion of AVCHD to Avid (*.MOV) by click on the export button.

Finally I get the converted files with several minutes. And another problem comes and makes me feel disappointed. As is known to us, YouTube has a limitation of video time length and size; the converted files have a large size after editing in Avid Media Composer 5. So I come out a solution and succeeded in uploading AVCHD files to YouTube.  What I have done was just cutting the files into several clips in Final Mate and exporting them in batch.
