Do you often use your TiVo to record some interesting TV shows which you do not have enough time to enjoy at the airing time? As a TV video recorder, TiVo owns numbers of users and becomes the most popular TV recorder over these years. And after that, Humax comes out and attract hundreds of TV show lovers to buy one. Actually, the appearance of Humax has robbed of the leading role of TiVo.
Why people would like to buy Humax instead of TiVo? I believe the reason lies on the combination of TiVo DVR with DVD recorder. As a TV recorder, the Humax works the same as TiVo, however when it comes to the extended application, TiVo has none except recorder TV shows while Humax is able to be used as a DVD recorder as well. People usually use Humax to record TV shows and DVD videos and load Humax TS files to HD media player like Dune HD Media player.
But how can it come true as HD media players do not support to import and play videos in TS format. And sometimes we would like to have these TS videos cut into several parts and delete few parts to meet our TV enjoying habit. Now, what should be down to achieve this plan?
It has been discovered that there is not any tool which can directly convert Humax TS files into common video formats after being cut into several parts. So, I use Aunsoft Video Converter and Aunsoft Final Mate to make TS files compatible with Dune HD Media player.
First, you need to remux Humax TS files as Final Mate does not support original TS files input. Load Humax TS files to Video Converter and choose Remux -> MPEG-TS Video Remux (*.TS) as the output format after the click at format setting button. Then click the convert button and wait for the exporting TS files.
After remuxed, these TS files have only one audio track while the original ones have double audio tracks. The next step you need to do is changing the expanded-name of these TS files to MTS. Because only single audio track of MTS files can be imported to Final Mate to be cut and exported.
Then you can import these MTS files to Final Mate and drag them to timeline to create movies for lossless output. Before starting to export, you need double click the movie to preview the video clip on the preview window and then you can choose the right location to cut and delete the video clips.
Finally, you just need to click the export button and the program will export lossless MTS files for Dune HD Media player in a short time. Some people would like to convert TS files to other formats like MP4 or AVI for playing on Dune HD Media player. Here I will explain why I prefer remuxing and lossless exporting.
First, MTS file has a better video and audio quality when compared with other common formats. You can have a better experience during enjoy the HD videos. And then, the most important reason is that you can save much time from conversion. Since usually TS videos have a large size and if you directly convert them, it will cost much time for you to get the final videos. However, remux and lossless output the TS files will only cost you just several seconds because there are not any decoding and encoding during the whole process. Now you can freely enjoy your TV shows after simple steps.
