While playing most AVCHD camcorder videos on computer, you may notice that there are some lines for fast moving objects. However, the video playback when connected to HDTV via HDMI or the playback on camcorder would work perfectly.
What is deinterlacing?
While the interlaced videos are recorded with combination of the frame with odd lines and the frame with even lines, one of the actions to deinterlace is to change the interlaced video to progressive mode by duplicating the frames with a complete frame with all the lines. Some other methods are called Blend, Average, Discard, etc.
Some of the media players provide deintelrace function for video playback. For example, VLC provides several kinds of deinterlacing mode like Blend, Bob, Yadif, Linear and so on. However, AVCHD is hard to process and requires high computer configuration for directly playback. To play recorded videos on computer, you can deinterlace 1080i .mts or .m2ts to progressive video with deinterlace filter.
